Duplication Services
Your existing rudder (or other simple three dimensional object) can be "scanned" and duplicated. This example shows a broken GP14 rudder that a customer sent me.
1. The outline ("planform") of the rudder is wrapped with foil tape, as is a cross-section. My CNC machine follows these paths and saves its location to a file (the foil tape completes an electrical circuit with the metal probe in the CNC machine).
2. A full 3D CAD file is created from the information, and then the blank is milled:
